Framing

At present, these artworks are sold unframed. Here are some options for framing your piece at home.

EasyFrame

The frame you see in the webstore photos is the purpose made 12 inch vinyl frame from EasyFrame. Featuring slightly differing circular aperture holes cut into two mount boards that nest your vinyl snugly, the record held in place with a paper fastener.

There are several options to custom order your frame, such as wood finish, size and colour. The coloured mount board is available in a wide range of colours so you can creatively mix and match.

For the frame you see here I went with simple 20mm black paint finish with black for both top and bottom mount.

Ikea – Lomviken

Lomviken 32cm square frames come in black or white and are just the right size to mount a record sleeve. However it does leave a 12” vinyl looking a little cosy in the frame.

Mount board (without an aperture window already cutout) is not included so you will need to source a 32cm square sheet via an art store. A paper fastener is included with the artwork for attaching to the mount board.

Note: due to the thickness of the vinyl once mounted in this frame, it is advisable to leave out the plastic glazing cover as it will warp over the record, leaving a shrink-wrapped effect.

Ikea – Sannahed (35cm SQ)

Sannahed 35cm square frames are deep boxed frames that offer some flexibility in framing your piece. The frame provides a balanced space to fit a 12” vinyl. They come in black, white and natural wood.

There is a separator provided that sits between the plastic glazing and the mount board so the artwork can rest elevated from its mount without the glaze touching it.

Mount board (without an aperture window already cutout) is not included so you will need to source a 35cm square sheet via an art store. A paper fastener is included with the artwork for attaching to the mount board.

Ikea – Sannahed (50cm SQ)

Sannahed 50cm square frames are deep boxed frames that offer some flexibility in framing your piece. The frame provides plenty of space around a 12” vinyl. They come in black, white and natural wood.

There is a separator provided that sits between the plastic glazing and the mount board so the artwork can rest elevated from its mount without the glaze touching it.

Mount board (without an aperture window already cutout) is not included so you will need to source a 50cm square sheet via an art store. A paper fastener is included with the artwork for attaching to the mount board.
